Bucket boost: Jokey nabs eco-award for recycled and recyclable container at ALL4PACK
04 Dec 2018 --- Bucket packaging suppliers Jokey has been awarded the Pack The Future Award in the Eco-Design category for the Jokey-Multi-Pack 185 (JMP 185), a bucket manufactured from recyclable materials, at this year’s ALL4PACK show in Paris. The bucket, including the handle, is fully recyclable.
The award-winning JMP 185 is made of grey-colored secondary raw materials, which come from post-consumer plastic packaging. It is just as durable and functional as a comparable bucket made of new plastic.
The recycled packaging also satisfies the demand for enhanced advertising and branding effect: the grey container can be attractively decorated with a PP-IML which has a uniform material. Smart features such as fragrance, watermarks and other attributes can also be integrated.
The lid and handle of the Jokey-Multi-Pack are made of new plastic and can be dyed to any color. In addition, maximum robustness is guaranteed when carrying, opening and closing. The lid and handle can also be made with recycled materials. Significantly, the recycled packaging can also be completely recycled after use.
The Pack The Future Award for sustainable plastic packaging is organized by the French plastic packaging association ELIPSO and its German counterpart, IK. Overall, 48 packaging innovations were entered in this year’s competition.
Nearly the entire Jokey product line can be manufactured from secondary raw materials. Jokey sees itself as the world’s leading manufacturer in the packaging bucket segment and has been producing packaging from secondary raw materials since the 1990s.
Recycled containers are particularly suitable for construction chemicals and other chemical products. This year, Jokey has started the Grey Is The New Green Initiative, in order to accelerate the use of recycled packaging. They have called upon filling companies to use more recycled containers, and consumers to purchase products in the grey packaging.
