DS Smith has announced that it is committed to having a portfolio of 100 percent reusable or recyclable packaging by 2025, as the company aims to be the partner of choice for customers seeking to make the switch to more sustainable packaging. “There is a great opportunity for our customers to replace unrecyclable packaging with fiber-based alternatives. However, the technical challenge lies in finding solutions which balance the right performance, exceptional user experience, food safety, and recyclability equally,” Says Magnus Renman, Group R&D Director.
Mondi, a packaging and paper provider, has become one of the signatories of The New Plastics Economy Global Commitment which will work towards eliminating plastic pollution by creating 100 percent reusable or recyclable plastic packaging by 2025. Through the Global Commitment, Mondi has said it will boost the use of recycled content in its products to ensure a minimum of 25 percent of post-consumer waste is incorporated across all its plastic packaging by 2025.

Hayes, chairman, president and chief executive officer.
