Sweet Freedom- the only natural sweetener made 100% from fruit – has unveiled a new bespoke bottle and labelling for 2012 to highlight the products versatility and uses from sweetening, drizzling, spreading and baking.
As from January 2012 it has achieved listings on the sugar shelf in both Waitrose and Morrisons across the UK.
Following a national PR campaign consumers are turning to use Sweet Freedom as a healthier alternative to granulated sugar and sweeteners.
Co-Founder Deborah Pyner commented: ‘The main benefit for consumers is that it tastes as good as sugar but with 25% fewer calories.
“We have received Great Taste Gold Awards and can’t see any other sweeteners including the new stevia based varieties following suit!
“Our customers want a healthier alternative to sugar but aren’t prepared to compromise on taste.”
With a low GL (Glycaemic Load), the natural sweetener gives consumers the taste and versatility of sugar, with none of the energy highs and lows making it a good choice for diabetics, dieters and all the family.
The products also have a growing celebrity fan base with Aldo Zilli announcing it as “my favourite ingredient” in September 2012.
Other celebrity fans include Raymond Blanc and TV dietician Amanda Hamilton.
Sweet Freedom is made from only apples, grapes and carob with no colours, flavours or preservatives added.
Co-Founder Tina Michelucci said: ‘The refreshed labelling makes it a lot easier for consumers to understand the many uses of the product, it’s amazingly versatile and we feel the new branding now clearly reflects this.”
Sweet Freedom is available in two versions:
Sweet Freedom Original replaces all white sugar and other sweeteners with its neutral sugar-like taste. It disperses to sweeten tea, coffee and smoothies and is popular over porridge and for healthier cooking and baking.
Sweet Freedom Dark is richer in taste and replaces all brown sugar, honey, golden syrup and maple syrup. Ideal over porridge, on toast, and for healthier cooking and baking.
Sweet Freedom is available to purchase in 350g squeezy bottles with a drip free cap from Waitrose, Morrisons, Tesco, Ocado, Holland & Barrett, Booths, Selfridges, Whole Foods and health food stores nationwide (RRP £2.99) with further listings in the pipeline.
It is also sold via 12 wholesalers of natural food products nationwide.
