Sidel Unveils Latest B low-Molding Technology
With the new Matrix platform, Sidel challenges the conventions of PET container production in order to meet the needs of the global liquid packaging industry – even better than before.
11 April 2012 --- At NPE 2012, the international plastics showcase, Sidel will present its vast portfolio of blow-molding solutions, including the SBO Compact2 blow-molding machine and the patented Modulomold technology. Visitors to booth 8825 will also have the possibility of attending the sneak preview of Sidel’s new, flexible and modular machine: the upcoming Sidel Matrix blower and its proven possibilities.
The SBO Compact2 delivers high quality and performance levels, equivalent to those of the SBO Universal blow-molder range. The latest evolution of the SBO family is more robust and has been industrially improved, while offering even better performance through electrical stretching. The new stretching console enables constant control of stretching position and speed. This ensures perfect repetitiveness of the process and higher production speeds. The stretching parameters are now managed directly from the Human Machine Interface (HMI).
DeepGrip and Modulomold for flexible bottles
The SBO Compact2 supports the DeepGrip large-format package. DeepGrip is the first PET bottle with a deep blow-molded grip and is perfectly suited for water and oil. It requires no external handle, which makes it easier to use. With its distinctive triangular shape, the three-liter bottle is produced with Sidel’s punching-conforming technology (patent pending). This technology enables the manufacture of single- material packages in large, functional formats.
With Modulomold, several bottle shapes of the same size (up to 0.7 liters) can be produced using one single mold. This technology based on removable mold inserts ensures quick and easy changeovers. The bottles have two shared parts, the labeling area and the base. The shoulder or the body or both can be customized using the inserts. A set of inserts can be changed in less than 30 seconds. The Modulomold inserts are designed according to the Single Minute Exchange of Die method (SMED) for tool-free assembly and disassembly.
