Anton Debatin GmbH is a manufacturer in the market of tamper-evident packaging solutions for transport, shipping and logistics. In addition to its headquarters in Bruchsal, Germany, the company operates facilities in France and the United Kingdom.
Riba GmbH is specialized in the production of high-quality packaging films. Founded in 1908, the German company operates in its headquarters based in Hamm (Westphalia) one of the most state-of-the-art PE film plants in Europe with a production capacity of several million running meters per day. The packaging films are semi-finished goods customized in accordance with each application and every individual specification. Riba’s customers include companies from the paper and cosmetics industries as well as from the food industry requiring films with and without barrier properties for oxygen and water.
The companies Anton Debatin and Riba are equal partners of the Deriba Group. The group also integrates Debatin SARL (Hoenheim, France), pfc premium film company GmbH (Hamburg, Germany), HVB Hoch-Vakuum-Beschichtungs GmbH (Berlin, Germany) and Berec GmbH (Werneuchen, Germany). Each individual enterprise is an expert in its sector.
The newly founded Deriba Group will coordinate all business activities, including unified marketing operations for the extensive product and service range. It will also increase the transfer of know-how throughout the product development process.
The companies will benefit from economies of scale within procurement, a general process optimization and synergetic effects within logistics as well as from the access to a new group of customers possessing a high purchasing volume.
The Deriba Group assumes a leading role within the European market for flexible packaging. In sum the companies achieve a sales volume of more than €100 million (US$114 million), employing over 400 employees. “In this way, we are becoming a key player in the market gaining the potential to grow nationally as well as internationally,” says Thomas Rose, CEO of Anton Debatin.
His new colleague, Frank Rieker, CEO of Riba adds, “Our companies have been cooperating project-based very successfully for a long time. As a group, we will be able to achieve even more. I am thinking for example of developing especially eco-friendly forms of packaging.”
