Amcor Flexibles has unveiled a new a thermoformable cellulose-based packaging known as Packpyrus designed for pre-sliced products such as meat or cheese.
Amcor Flexibles has unveiled a new a thermoformable cellulose-based packaging known as Packpyrus designed for pre-sliced products such as meat or cheese.
The new packaging features an oxygen barrier and is offered in three versions - Packpyrus Flexible for vacuum pack base webs, as well as Packpyrus Semi-Rigid and Packpyrus Rigid for modified atmosphere base webs.
The lightweight Packpyrus Flexible and Packpyrus Rigid solutions are claimed to offer improvement in life cycle performance considerably.
According to Amcor Flexibles, the products use renewable fibers and optimized manufacturing processes and offer reduction in the carbon footprint of about 70% and 60% respectively.
Amcor Packpyrus has 'Kraft paper' natural look and feel which brings improved product differentiation on shelf. The Packpyrus is manufactured by the company in a plant with ISO 14001 certification.
