Beatson Clark Designs Future Glass Packaging Innovation
The designs now in progress embrace these key factors and draw on the expertise of Beatson Clark to develop them further into glass containers that will provide real shelf presence.
Sep 24 2010 --- Leading glass manufacturer Beatson Clark is once again proving its commitment to innovation by designing the glass packaging of the future.
Working alongside global brand agency Blue Marlin, new conceptual deigns have been created and were exhibited at the easyFairs Packaging Innovations exhibition earlier this year. When showcased over 80% of those asked were extremely impressed with the new design concepts and were amazed to discover the diversity in design achievable with glass. The two top designs chosen, Rubic and Flame, are now being developed into the first stage of their physical visualisation, and will be on show at easyFairs Packaging Innovations in London, during October.
Charlotte Taylor, Marketing Manager said: ‘We decided to take an alternative approach to the industry's normal new product development process, which sees glass manufacturers either providing standard containers or designing bespoke glass containers with products already in mind.
‘Commissioning Blue Marlin has given us the insight to anticipate and capitalise on future trends and ensures our customers are given the latest and most innovative solutions to their glass packaging.
‘Using research, customer feedback and analysis, we are now in the process of developing two of the designs, Flame and Rubic, which can be utilised for a variety of products.’
According to Blue Marlin, the future of glass packaging design is consumer led with honesty, purity and intelligence being the key drivers. The designs now in progress embrace these key factors and draw on the expertise of Beatson Clark to develop them further into glass containers that will provide real shelf presence.
