Challenge
Help Danone save money, improve distribution and maximise mechanisation on their yogurt packaging; all without sacrificing product protection or print quality
Approach
Combine DS Smith’s thinner, lighter R-Flute® with clever design for unparalleled packaging performance.
Result
- A 20% reduction in overall costs compared to the previous Shelf-Ready Packaging (SRP) solution
- 25% more packaging per pallet and significantly reduced logistics costs
- 30% weight reduction by moving from two piece packaging to single piece solution
- Cleaner printing and perforations due to stiffer, flatter surfaces of R-Flute®(30% more flutes per cm than B flute)
- Faster production times by moving from manual assembly to mechanised solution
- Reduced CO2 emissions during distribution
- Increased sales thanks to a wide front opening and high-definition, six-colour, flexo printing preprint
