DYC Renews its Bottle for the First Time in 48 Years
Changing the packaging after almost 50 years of maintaining the brand’s personality and trying to stress new attributes of the product is an important challenge that we are taking very carefully.
05/12/2007 The Spanish spirit drinks brand DYC changes its image and revives the job of Nicomedes García Gomez, founder of Destilerías y Crianzas del Whisky, who in 1959 made a dream come true: to produce whisky in the Segovia region.
“Packaging is like the heart of the brand” assures Francisco Rionda, DYC brand director. “In the market studies developed by Beam Global in order to know the consumers’ perception of brands, we spotted a real need for updating our design. Changing the packaging after almost 50 years of maintaining the brand’s personality and trying to stress new attributes of the product is an important challenge that we are taking very carefully. The brand need to continue being relevant and attractive to young people, and its old packaging did not communicate the brand’s values in terms of quality, history and personality” stated Fran Rionda.
