Two Food Metal Detection units were recently commissioned for detecting potential metal contaminants for a dairy products producer in Brisbane’s Western Suburbs. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Brisbane branch, the Food Metal Detectors are operating on two new product lines for shredded and diced cheese.
The Fortress Phantom Food Metal Detectors are fitted with different size apertures; 600mm x 300mm for inspecting larger bags of cheese for the food service industry and a smaller 300mm x 150mm aperture for retail products. The larger Metal Detection System stops the conveyor if a metal contaminant is detected, while the smaller unit is fitted with an air-blast auto reject mechanism into a locked reject bin with photo-eye confirmation to ensure the product is quarantined.
Both Food Metal Detectors were supplied with a conveyor system constructed in 304 stainless steel which can be used in harsh environments including wash-down. For heightened Metal Detection stability and performance in wet product applications, the IP-69K certified BSH Extra Rugged Casing utilises an epoxy chute to eliminate potential water damage of the sensitive components.
For applications requiring enhanced product reporting, the Stealth Metal Detection System offers integrated HACCP reporting capabilities using a USB port to allow data logging of all major events such as rejects, operator validations, faults, etc.
Accuweigh is the exclusive Australian distributor for the Fortress range of Food Metal Detection Systems manufactured by Dynamic Inspection in New Zealand.
