Fresh Advantage, located at 18 Electronics Avenue, will be opening for business on July 21, 2014. The company has over 100 years of experience in the manufacturing business and will now be offering High Pressure Processing (HPP) to food and beverage companies. The new facility, which has just undergone extensive renovation, offers 30,000 sq. ft. of state-of-the-art cooler space, in addition to its manufacturing area. The new facility is located on Route 1 with great access to all area highways, with plans to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to better serve Fresh Advantage’s customers.
In addition to offering HPP to companies, Fresh Advantage will also offer customer product pickup, the capacity to thaw any frozen products, post-HPP packaging options, product delivery options, and advanced lot tracking and scanning.
About High Pressure Processing
High Pressure Processing (HPP) is a method of non-thermal food processing where food and beverages are subjected to elevated pressures of up to 87,000 pounds per square inch. This pressure, applied uniformly around and throughout the product, helps to disrupt the cellular activity of bacteria and food-borne pathogens. Because HPP does not apply or use heat, it eliminates any thermal degradation of the product that may occur through other conventional processing methods, such as pasteurization, making it especially beneficial for heat-sensitive products. As such, HPP retains food and beverage quality, maintains natural freshness, and extends microbiological shelf life.
