GEA Presents ‘Safe And Cost Effective Aseptic Blow Fill For Milk Beverages’ At Aseptipak In Mexico

GEA will this year be attending the Aseptipak Global Forum in Mexico City, 26-27 October, to present its market leading Aseptic Blow Fill technology to leading suppliers and end users in the beverage sector. Representatives of the company will be discussing the latest developments in aseptic filling and packaging technology, with particular focus on the Latin American market.

Luigi Baiocchi, Key Account Manager for GEA Blowing, Filling & Packaging, will be presenting at the Forum to illustrate the GEA filling solutions specifically designed for milk and milk based products. He said that Latin America is a dynamic region where the market for aseptically-packaged products is expected to grow significantly in the next few years. It represents an opportunity for GEA as the company establishes itself in this market with its innovative technologies. “Close customer contact, combined with our experience with sensitive beverage filling gives us a unique understanding of the challenges faced by beverage producers and their need for a safe and cost effective technology,” he said.

This is exactly what GEA provides with its Aseptic Blow Fill system, the feather in the cap of its solution portfolio for the dairy market. With ABF technology, the preform itself is sterilized before moving through to the aseptic bottle blowing, filling and capping bloc; and the entire system is housed in a closed and sterile environment.

ABF uses DRY H2O2 preform sterilization, a smart, saving-oriented and breakthrough technology that offers maximum efficacy for processing both high acid and low acid beverages. “Like all GEA aseptic filling systems, ABF is Low acid log 6 validated and meets the most demanding validation protocols and challenging environmental conditions,” said Luigi who will be delivering his presentation ‘Safe and Cost Effective Aseptic Blow Fill for Milk Beverages’ at 4:30pm on Monday 26 October as part of the Forum’s seminar program.

By sterilizing preforms instead of bottles after blowing, the ABF system prevents the bottle from being deformed by heat during the process; this means that the bottle can be lighter weight, thereby reducing PET consumption and transport costs. Energy and water usage is kept to a minimum by the elimination of air conveyors, sterilization and rinsing carrousels. This results in a significantly lower total cost of ownership (TCO) than traditional PAA systems.

Even greater filling flexibility can be achieved by matching the ABF system with the GEA Aseptic Piston Doser. This allows bottles to be dosed with fruit pieces up to 10mm x 10mm x 10mm ahead of the subsequent filling process with a high level of accuracy and giving customers the opportunity of riding the wave of the new market for beverages with real fruit chunks.
