HP Sauce has teamed up with Movember to launch 1 million limited edition labelled bottles to raise awareness of the annual charity event for men’s health.
The famous Houses of Parliament image has been removed for the first time in HP history, and is replaced with a British gent wearing a bowler hat, complete with an inspirational handlebar moustache, or ‘Mo’.
Taking place throughout November, Movember is an annual moustache-growing charity event that raises awareness and funds for men’s health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives.
Available in 225g and 450g packs, the limited edition bottle can be ordered by retailers to stock on-shelf now. The label keeps the traditional blue colour to retain standout on-shelf, and features a rallying cry: “Men of Britain: Grow your Mo”.
HP will also be running a competition for its Facebook fans, giving them the chance to become the ‘HP Face of Movember’. Fans can upload photos of their ‘Mo’ to the Facebook page and the person with the most ‘likes’ by the end of the month wins. The winner receives £5,000 towards their Movember fund, and a weekend of gentlemanly treats for four – including a stay in a central London hotel, a top-end wet shave and dinner.
In addition, HP is hosting mini-Movember competitions, giving away £7,000 throughout November to the top weekly ‘Mo’ photos. And it’s not just the gents who can win – the first 100 voters, either male or female, can win HP limited edition bottles every day.
Sally Burtonwood, HP Sauce Brand Manager said: “Movember has achieved a great following in the last few years, with its innovative way of raising awareness for the important, and often neglected issue of men’s health.
“Health is at the front of many consumers’ minds, and through this campaign HP is reaffirming its support for men’s health. Growing a moustache is a fun way to drive awareness of men’s health and create exposure around the rarely discussed topics of prostate and testicular cancer. We’re really pleased to have the opportunity to support this worthy campaign, and increase consumer awareness of Movember and men’s health through the HP brand.”
HP will also be undertaking in-store activities to encourage retailers and members of the public to ‘Grow their Mo’, giving away branded collateral in return for uploading their images onto the Facebook page.
