Interpack 2023: Multivac to showcase cost-effective food processing and packaging lines
03 Mar 2023 --- As the biggest packaging trade show in Europe – Interpack – returns after a brief hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Multivac is gearing up to showcase compact packaging solutions for flexibility and cost-effectiveness aimed at small and medium-sized production batches. The packager will also display complete processing and packaging lines for the food industry.
“This year, we are consciously putting our smaller and more compact models center stage,” says Dr. Tobias Richter, director and CSO at the Multivac Group.
“They are versatile in their use, as well as cost-effective, efficient, sustainable and resilient in virtually every production process.”
Visitors to the Multivac booth at Interpack, from May 4 to 10 in Düsseldorf, Germany, can witness the R 085 e-concept thermoforming packaging machine in conjunction with a Handtmann dosing system, which is used to dose food directly into the thermoformed packs.
The visitors can also experience demonstrations of Multivac’s T 255 traysealer dye change’s flexibility and efficiency and how it offers maximum machine availability. “The machine can be converted in a short time and with just a few hand movements from producing MultiFresh packs to MAP packs,” the company asserts. At Interpack 2023, Multivac will present its C 200 tabletop chamber machine suitable for meat packaging.
Automation for food packaging
Multivac’s T 255 traysealer is described as a space-saving, free-standing unit that produces different types of tray packing on the one machine in small and medium-sized batches.
In addition, the T 305 is the smallest fully automatic traysealer from Multivac, which can be fully integrated into lines. “It is way ahead in its class as regards output performance and it can accommodate formats from one to four tracks,” Multivac shares.
The packager is also showing its B 425 compact chamber belt machine, which offers high output when packing smaller products such as ham, cheese, poultry and fish. “The new B 425 will also be appreciated by cost-conscious companies, who are looking for a higher product throughput when packing small products, since the 1,300 mm long sealing bar makes it possible to load many products,” it details.
“In Düsseldorf, the chamber belt machine will be combined with a SE 320 shrink unit, which, due to precisely controlled heat exposure, produces shrink packs in a particularly reliable and gentle way on the product.”
For the more oversized products such as cheese portions, ham or fresh meat, Multivac will present its C 200 tabletop chamber machine.Interpack visitors can experience demonstrations of Multivac’s T 255 traysealer.
Maximizing output
The W 500 to be shown by Multivac is a universal flowpacking solution that offers a “high level” of flexibility for packing a wide range of food products and supports sustainable films and paper-based materials.
“The robust machine, which is built to Multivac’s Hygienic Design, is characterized by its high level of efficiency and precision, as well as its user-friendliness, reliability, cost-effectiveness and high output,” the packaging solutions provider states.
The W 500 employs servo drive technology, ensuring maximum output and optimum process control. Other features include the independent speed setting of the rollers for crease-free longitudinal sealing, cross-sealing with recipe-based control of sealing temperature and pressure and an integrated gas analysis system for modified atmosphere packaging.
Moreover, Multivac visitors can check out the DP 207 printing solution at Interpack. The company offers a range of solutions for labeling and marking the packs on a flowpacker.
PackagingInsights will be exhibiting at the trade show at booth B83 in Hall 8A and reporting live from the event.
