Malibu, the iconic Caribbean rum, is launching a colourful limited edition bottle in collaboration with up-and-coming designer Nikki Farquharson, cited as one of the “top 10 new stars of design” in recent years.
The contemporary bottle design, inspired by the vibrancy of summer and the colours of the iconic Malibu logo, has a fresh design reflecting the carnival spirit of Malibu’s Caribbean roots. Malibu Limited Edition Summer ’11 will be available in UK multiple grocers from the end of April 2011.
Patrick Venning, Head of Marketing for Malibu at Pernod Ricard UK, says: “The Limited Edition Summer ‘11 completely embodies the Malibu spirit. By working with an inspirational artist such as Nikki, we have developed a unique proposition for retailers that delivers stand out on shelf and will drive sales in the run up to the key summer period. The eye-catching product has been designed to appeal to our target audience and to be at the heart of their social get-togethers.”
The launch of the limited edition summer bottle is key to Malibu’s summer campaign, which kicks off in April 2011. The through-the-line campaign will include national TV advertising activity, a brand-new consumer experiential concept and investment behind social media to ensure the brand reaches its target audience.
