Motion Control System

The PACSystems DSM314 motion controller can control up to four axes and is capable of solving complex single- and multiaxis motion control applications, in combination with some of the co.s programmable automation controllers and PLCs. The motion module can control up to four analog or two digital servos plus one analog.

The system features built-in diagnostics and absolute feedback, which eliminates the need to find a home-position at each startup or when the machine recovers from a power loss. It supports a range of servo power and sizes, incremental or absolute feedback and the scalable I/O and communication of a PLC-based control system. The unit includes electronic CAM functionality, and its CAM profile can follow a master encoder mounted on the machine, another controlled axis or a time-based master source within the same controller module.
