The spray’s market is a lucrative one for retailers with an estimated value of 149.5m, within this task sprays deliver 60% of all sales, a value of £90.3m. Bathroom sprays are the biggest selling SKU (excluding multipurpose) with sales last year of £40.9m.
Isabelle de Morlhon, brand communications leader for P&G, says “Task sprays continue to show strong growth despite the overall number of shoppers remaining flat. The growth is a result of NPD and shoppers adding task to their regular shop. This is why we strongly recommend that retailers clearly merchandise to ensure they’re giving themselves the strongest chance of winning incremental shoppers, while also clearly appealing to their core audience.
Flash is a much-trusted brand that resonates with consumers thanks to its long-standing heritage and consistently reliable performance. However, we never stop striving to improve our products, a good clean is no longer the only factor that shoppers are considering when making their purchasing decisions as features like scent and freshness become increasingly more important. That’s why we are continually working on improvements to our formulas to ensure consumers get the best possible results from their household products.”
