The new Easter product contains a series of miniature foil wrapped eggs, in addition to a character driven toy. The range is made up of two differently themed packages, Hello Kitty and Power Rangers. The toy is the hero-element of the product and a key trigger mechanism for purchase. Kinnerton required an innovative packaging solution that would draw attention to the toy by keeping it separate from the eggs.
Kettering-based New Vision has produced a stick pack design, made entirely of clear PET plastic, enabling the contents to be completely visible to the consumer. Utilising plastic as the sole material for the pack allows for a unique twist-top section to be built in. Housing the toy, this innovative solution allows the non-edible element of the product to be kept separate from the eggs below, showcasing the gift to the consumer.
Stephen Shortland, managing director of New Vision Packaging, said: “We were presented with a challenging brief from the client, and one that we believe we have fulfilled with a practical packaging solution.
“The stick pack is made from a single sheet of plastic, with a number of cuts in specific locations, allowing for the twist-top to be simply folded into place.”
The themed Easter product is part of the Kinnerton brochure range for Easter 2013, and will be stocked in retailers nationwide.
