Combi Packaging Systems debuted its HL350-SA (Semi-Automatic Horizontal Loader) during Pack Expo, November 7 - 11, 2004 at Chicago's McCormick Place. The new equipment will allow companies to automate the horizontal loading of product into manually erected cases. This cost effective solution is for companies that require a high-end loader but have limited space. The Combi HL350-SA adapts to up stacking, down stacking or progressive collation and occupies a footprint of less than 50 square feet. Empty cases are erected and placed in the machine manually. The system automatically collects the product, creates a pack pattern and loads the products into the erected case. A custom engineered cradle holds the case in place for loading then automatically turns the filled case 90 degrees and releases it onto a product takeaway conveyor. Generally, one person can easily support multiple packing lines. The unique telescoping feature on the Combi HL350-SA allows the equipment to automatically handle horizontal loads with considerably less floor space.
