Sea Star Seafood's packaging for the Beacon Light brand of seafood has a new look that the company expects will spur a sales spike. The new Beacon Light logo and film-covered tray-packs build on Sea Star's momentum, one year after moving into a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Merchandized frozen, the products are vacuum-packaged under modified atmosphere to ensure freshness. The trays are film-sealed with a flexo-printed film, topped with labels from Quik Stik that attach to the front and the back of each pack. Farnell Packaging Limited and Donahue-Corry Associates print the packaging in four or six colors, depending on the item, plus two spot colors and a backup or bump of white. The eye-catching graphics, crafted by Wright Design, include contemporary fonts that combine to create an impactful merchandising display for more than 20 different products in the line. The new, contemporary design incorporates a red ribbon noting the seafood, an appetizing serving suggestion photo and a large, clear viewing window, all framed by inviting images of clear, cool water. The window is a key element, as it encourages consumers to "see the freshness" and inspect the vacuum-sealed fish inside, the company reports. The new packaging showcases four product categories: Great on the Grill; Boneless Fillets; Succulent Seafood; and Oven Ready.
