Southern Comfort, part of Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands, has announced it is bringing back its Price Marked Packs (PMPs) in time for retailers to boost sales this Christmas.
Originally launched in May to help the convenience channel remain competitive over the summer months, the PMPs have been reintroduced to allow retailers capitalize on the category trend for consumers having a festive drink at home in the lead up to Christmas.
The spirit brand which originally hails from New Orleans, will be available in 35cl and 70cl bottles, exclusively to independent and convenience outlets via cash and carries across the UK. Available from the beginning of October the bottles will retail at the promotional price of £8.99 and £14.99 respectively. Offering clear on-shelf stand out, the bottles have been designed to ensure consumers feel they are getting the best value for money.
With recent research revealing that 71% of consumers are more likely to buy a product with a price clearly displayed, the benefits to retailers looking to increase sales and profit opportunities this winter months are clear.
Senior Brand Manager at Southern Comfort, Susie Modhawadia, comments, “The Price Marked Packs performed really well when trialled earlier this year, so we are delighted to be able to offer them to independent and convenience store retailers for the second time.
“With value for money being a large concern for consumers, highly visible PMPs reassures them they are getting value for money from their convenience store on a premium spirit brand. With more and more consumers choosing to stay at home for nights in, or having a drink with friends before going out and with the festive period looming, we anticipate the bottles will add incremental sales for retailers. Stock up now to avoid disappointment!”
