Uncle Matt's Announces All Products Now Shipped in 100% Post-Consumer Recycled Boxes
The packaging change follows the company's October 2010 decision to use 100% recycled fiber boxes for shipping fresh fruit.
2/7/2011 --- Beginning in 2011, Uncle Matt's is proud to announce its entire family of products, including its flagship 59 oz. orange juice, will be shipped in 100% post-consumer recycled cardboard boxes.
"This is just one more step towards sustainability for our company," says Matt McLean, founder and CEO of Uncle Matt's. "We believe in protecting the environment and know that using recycled cardboard boxes is one more way to accomplish that goal."
By shipping its juice in recycled boxes, Uncle Matt's will save 1,821 trees, 225 yards of landfill, 481,950 gallons of fresh water, 331,700 KWH of power, and 107.1 tons of CO2 footprint in one season.
The packaging change follows the company's October 2010 decision to use 100% recycled fiber boxes for shipping fresh fruit. "Our entire product line is now shipped in recycled boxes," adds McLean. "It's a decision that reflects and upholds our core values."
Uncle Matt's encourages both retailers and consumers to protect the environment through recycling its packaging.
