Created in August 2002 by the integration of six Odebrecht Group companies and the Mariani Group, Braskem is today the largest producer of thermoplastic resins in the Americas and the largest producer of polypropylene in the United States. Its production is focused on polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resins, as well as basic chemical inputs such as ethene, propene, butadiene, benzene, toluene, chlorine, soda and solvents, among others. Together, it is one of the most complete portfolios on the market, as it also includes green polyethylene, produced from sugar cane, of 100% renewable origin.

Braskem is part of the chemical and petrochemical sector, which has relevant participation in numerous production chains and is essential for economic development. In this context, chemistry and plastic contribute to the creation of sustainable solutions to improve people's lives in sectors such as housing, food and mobility.
