PolyOne has introduced the OnCap AA scavenger, a new additive for FDA-regulated PET food packaging applications. Scavenger reduces acetaldehyde acid in PET by up to 82% and solves AA-related taste and odor issues, making it ideal for FDA-regulated food and beverage, and health and beauty packaging applications. Additive is said to be less costly and can be used at lower rates than traditional AA-reducing solutions. Available as a pellet or liquid, as well as in an OnColor™ Smartbatch™ concentrate, an integrated solution that combines colorants and additives in one masterbatch.
