Ball Corporation has revealed its Alumi-Tek packaging has been chosen for a limited-edition beer to improve shelf life and product weight.
The 16 oz. aluminum bottle has a resealable twist off cap and a wide mouth opening for Oskar Blues Brewery and Sun King Brewing Co.’s collaboration to produce Chaka ale.
The company said the fully recyclable bottle is lightweight, unbreakable, efficient to ship and store, impervious to light and oxygen and provides flavour protection and long shelf life.
Robert M. Miles, senior vice president, of sales for Ball’s metal beverage packaging division Americas, said: "Alumi-Tek drinks like a bottle and cools like a can to deliver a clean, crisp taste experience for the craft beer drinker.
"With the can's many advantages, including resealability, portability, high recycling rates, brand building graphics and beneficial economics to name just a few, craft brewers and consumers alike are reaching for aluminum containers."
