Ecology Coatings, Inc., a leader in the discovery and development of high performance, ultraviolet-curable advanced coatings, announced several developments relating to its patent pending GRAS (generally recognized as safe) coating.
Sally Ramsey, Ecology's Vice President of New Product Development, will be presenting this novel technology May 1, 2012, at the RadTech UV&EB 2012 Technology & Expo Conference, and on May 9, 2012, at the Food Packaging Technologies Summit. Ramsey's presentations will focus on several potential uses of Ecology's exciting GRAS technology, including grease resistance, direct food contact, a pigment extender and a matting agent.
Ecology also announced that it has engaged Atlanta-based FlexPacknology llc to support business development activity with food and food packaging companies. FlexPacknology is also tasked with accelerating introduction of the technology, along with identifying and evaluating strategic opportunities for the technology.
Ecology has GRAS patents pending in the United States, Europe and Canada. The World Intellectual Property Organization previously determined that they found no prior art and the GRAS application is novel and unique.
