For the first time ever in the UK, Bazooka Candy Brands has developed a range of price-marked packs for each of it’s leading brands; Mega Mouth, Juicy Drop Pop, Big Baby Pop and Push Pop.
The move means that all four flagship brands can now be bought for under £1.00.
The new proposition taps into consumer demand for the best value products in what’s becoming an increasingly difficult economic climate.
Kids’ weekly pocket money allowances remain low, so the announcement hopes to come as welcome news for independent retailers keen to sell single sweets at competitive price points.
Available from convenience stores, independents and cash and carry outlets across the UK, the new prices breakdown as follows;
- Juicy Drop Pop – ‘drops’ to 99p, combining a hard lolly and a sour drop
- Mega Mouth – The UK’s leading liquid candy brand (with a 7% year-on-year increase in value sales) sees its standard price point reduced – sweet sprays now costs just 89p.
- Big Baby Pop – Big Baby Pop is a bottle-shaped treat for 79p.
- Push Pop – The Push Pop price is pushed down to 39p.
To help draw customers’ attention to the new packs, Bazooka Candy Brands has developed POS material to support the launch. The new floor standing display, which will be available from participating cash and carry outlets, allows all of the PMP products to be merchandised together.
Sarah Burrow, Marketing Director at Bazooka Candy Brands, said: “This is the first time we’ve used price-marked packs on our key products in the UK and we’re confident they’ll be a success.
“We’ve taken note of consumer behaviour and are making our products more accessible for our target market”.
