Leading print and packaging business, Qualvis, has created a new range of packs for healthy snacking brand, BEAR. The packs, which are the latest addition to BEAR’s product line-up, are known as BEAR Claws - a range of tasty fruit and vegetable combinations.
Intended for children aged 4 - 9 years of age, Claws are designed to entertain youngsters, and engage them with their food. With graphics that were created by B&B studios to complement Qualvis’ carton design, every pack of Claws includes a variety of monster body shapes based on 4 very different unique characters, including eyes, tails, horns and spikes - so that kids can build their own monsters.
The boxes also include reversed panel orientations to accommodate feature monster feet with ‘funky toes’ that protrude. From a SRP perspective, the addition of stand-out feet make it look like they’re sitting on the shelf, thereby delighting children whilst out shopping with their parents.
As an important supply chain consideration, the feet have been designed to back fold flat so the packs can be packed into an outer without damage. In addition, the packs can be filled using a high speed automated packing line, ensuring that the design does not compromise the commercial aspect of the range. The packaging is manufactured using FSC accredited material, reverse printed for a natural feel using low migration inks and varnishes.
Qualvis' technical director, Richard Pacey said: “This project was a lot of fun to work on and we are delighted with the result. The funky design creates maximum consumer engagement and end-user interaction, whilst being fully optimised for packaging supply chain efficiency.”
Qualvis Print & Packaging are exhibiting at Packaging Innovations on 24-25 February on Stand L48.
