Bobst introduces folder-gluer range for boosted box production capacity and quality
20 Jan 2022 --- Bobst is introducing a new folder-gluer range to its machine line-up. The Novafold is described as one of the most diverse and high-performance folder-gluer ranges available to today’s packaging printers and converters.
The Novafold 50, 80 and 110 folder-gluer models are designed to help packaging companies boost capacity and end-product quality with reliability, precision and versatility. The machines can produce a wide variety of box styles across various substrates at speeds of up to 300 meters per minute.
Available to customers from January 2022, the new range includes VisionFold 50-110, ExpertFold 50-110 and MasterFold 75-110, which can be equipped with dedicated devices or peripherals, further enhancing their performance.
“By identifying the actual real-world needs of the industry and using that to inform our product development, we are delivering solutions that make a true commercial difference,” says Pierre Binggeli, Bobst’s product line director for folder-gluers.
“Novafold is an example of this approach in practice. The folder-gluer has the essential range of efficient and reliable features, from the highly steady feeder through to blank aligner, accurate prebreaker, flexible crash-lock module and 4 & 6-corner device.”
“Its technology allows [the machines] to produce all standard packaging, opening the way toward diversification for printers and converters looking to expand their capabilities.”A Novafold folder-gluer machine.
Rapid set up
The machine range also benefits from rapid set up on all types, and most sizes, of 4 and 6-cornered boxes, produced at speeds of up to 18,000 boxes per hour.
The Human Machine Interface allows settings to be saved, with automated positioning and remote control for precision and faster job changes.
The Novafold can also be equipped with the Accueject complementary device, which provides enhanced quality assurance. Operating in conjunction with all commonly-used glue application systems, Accueject automatically ejects boxes that do not meet the quality control specifications.
The device guarantees 100% ejection of faulty boxes at full speed and enables the delivery of consistent, high-quality finished products. The Novafold range can produce up to 18,000 boxes per hour.
Market appetite
According to Binggeli, there is a huge market appetite for solid, dependable machines that deliver a combination of quality and efficiency with a robust design.
“That’s precisely what converters get with Bobst machines. With pure reliability and performance in one package, Novafold truly is the essence of Bobst expertise: user-friendly ergonomics, waste reduction and superior quality performance,” he says.
The Swiss machinery and services company is hosting on-site and virtual demonstrations of the machine and its capabilities, which can be booked through its website.
Last year, Bobst launched a full-line solution for high-volume simple box production and added-value packaging with qualitative printing and die-cutting. It also unveiled monomaterial recyclable pouches in an eight-partner collaboration.
