10/02/07 Asia's No. 1 plastics and rubber trade fair, the 21st International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries (known as "Chinaplas 2007"), will be held from May 21-24, 2007 at Chinese Export Commodities Fair Pazhou Complex (Guangzhou International Convention & Exhibition Centre), Pazhou, Guangzhou, P.R. China. The current edition attracts over 1,600 exhibitors, coming from more than 20 countries and regions whilst pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, PR China and Taiwan Province, United Kingdom and USA will showcase their expertise at the fair. Chinaplas 2007 will occupy 11 exhibition halls located at the first and second floor of the exhibition centre, and a temporary hall will be set up to meet the demand of exhibitors. Hence, the total exhibition area reaches a new height of 102,000sqm, increasing 32% compared with the fair in 2005 in Guangzhou. It is the largest ever scale since its inception in 1983.
The overwhelming responses of Chinaplas 2007 reflect not only the prosperity and steady growth of the plastics and rubber industries in China under the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, but also the high recognition of Chinaplas being the most effective platform in providing business opportunities among various kinds of industries in China and Asia.
China has grown into a giant in the plastics industry with her production volume of plastics processing machines and plastic products, and the consumption amount of plastic resins ranking the world's first, second and third respectively. China's plastics industry has put great efforts to upgrade industrial technology, improve the level of creativity and adjust the fundamental structure of enterprises, leading to the enhancement of overall competitiveness. Under the Tenth Five-Year Plan, China's plastics and rubber industries enjoyed high increase in its total industrial value while the figures in 2006, the first year of the Eleventh Five-Year Plan, remained good. From January to November 2006, the volume of plastics production was amounted to 25.182 millions tons, a rise of 19.32% compared with same period of previous year. The volume of plastic products is predicted to increase over 10% while plastics recycling has become more and more important.
A press conference on Chinaplas 2007 was held in Beijing, PR China. One of the guest speakers, Mr. Liao Zhengpin, President of China Plastics Processing Industry Association analyzed the development of plastics industry in China under the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. He said, "According to statistics of the National Bureau of Statistics of China, China's output of synthetic resins in 2006 reached 25.287 million tons, an increase of 17.6% compared with previous year. Also, the production volume of plastics machineries resumed to a strong increase of 32.47% in 2006. These all indicate that China's plastics and rubber industries are growing steadily and healthily." Mr. Liao Zhengpin predicted that the industries will continue to develop greatly under the Eleventh-Five Year Plan.
The rapid development of science and technology has highly increased the applications of plastics and rubber in various manufacturing sectors, including packaging, auto parts, electrical appliances, building and construction, IT and telecommunication, toys, etc., which accelerate the development of China's economy. The speedy development of various industries in China catalyzes the expansion of Chinaplas which has broken many historical records. Chinaplas 2007 is recognized as a valuable event that industrial players, manufacturers and buyers cannot afford to miss.
Chinaplas has been enlisted as the "UFI Approved Event" by the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry (UFI) last year. It is the only plastics and rubber trade show in PR China honored with the label of "UFI Approved Event. Mr Stanley Chu, Chairman of Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd, Organizer of Chinaplas, announced another encouraging news at the press conference. Chinaplas 2006 has won the award of "Top Ten The Most Influential China Brand Exhibitions" in the second edition of "The Star of China Expo Ceremony". The award ascertains that Chinaplas is well-recognized in the industry.
In line with industrial development, Chinaplas 2007 will tie-in with the theme of "Bringing Innovations to Life, and Success to your Business" and demonstrate various plastics and rubber materials and technologies for daily lives and industrial use.
A wide range of chemical materials as well as over 1,200 sets of machines, including injection molding machines, blow molding machines, extruders and auxiliary equipment, etc., will be displayed. To assist trade buyers in sourcing their targeted business partners, the first floor of the exhibition hall will have six theme zones, namely Machinery Zone, Drinktec & Plastic Packaging Zone, Auxiliary & Testing Equipment Zone, Rubber Equipment Zone, Die & Mould Zone and Chinese Export Machinery & Materials Zone. The second floor will showcase Chemicals & Raw Materials and Semi-finished Products. It is worth to mention that Chemicals & Raw Materials will expand to 28,000sqm, a surge of 21.7% compared with last edition. It is the largest scale in history. The Chinese Export Machinery and Materials Hall also displays a dazzling array of domestic plastics and rubber machines at competitive prices.
At the press conference, the organizer also invited three other guest speakers from end-users associations and enterprises to share with audience on the recent plastics applications in different sectors. They are Mr. Liu Fuzhong, Vice President of China Household Electrical Appliances Association, Ms. Zeng Yanju, Director of Information Department of China National Packaging Import & Export Corporation and Mr. Zhang Hongbing, Vice General Manager of Tongling Trinity Technology Co., Ltd.
Apart from being an effective international plastics and rubber trading platform, seminars are held in every edition to facilitate visitors to gain market intelligence. Moreover, China Plastics Processing Industry Association, Plastindia Foundation and Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd. will join hands to organize a high level industrial summit, namely the China-India Plastics Industry Summit, on May 20, 2007. There will also be onsite activities concurrently held during Chinaplas, such as CEO Forum, Charity Bazzar, etc. with the aims of raising the overall quality of the fair and promote corporate's social responsibility.
