Caudalie partners with Lumson on refillable glass packaging for anti-aging cream
02 Nov 2023 --- Caudalie has collaborated with Lumson to create the packaging for its Premier Cru La Crème Riche Anti-age Global, selecting the De Luxe Re Place, a refillable glass jar with an inner PP cup.
Re Place was chosen by the brand “because it marries luxury and sustainability.” The packaging is comprised of a refillable jar with an inner cup. Lumson says it creates refillable packaging so the consumers can be “more virtuous” and engage in “conscious consumption.” The pot’s components are made in Italy.
Crème Riche Anti-age Global from the Premier Cru collection is an anti-aging cream with 97% plant-based ingredients. It aims to correct the eight prominent skin imperfections related to the passage of time: Persistent wrinkles, small wrinkles, blemishes, loss of radiance and volume and sagging and dehydration.
Anti-aging refillable cream
The cream has been developed with TET8, a patented technology resulting from ten years of research that combines resveratrol obtained from grapes and Honokiol extracted from Magnolia officinalis.
When the cream runs out, the PP inner cup can be removed, disposed of along the correct recycling chain and replaced with a new one. All the elements of the vase — inner cup, vase and lid — can be customized and embellished with various effects and decorations.
Caudalie chose the matt gold lacquer and hot stamping for the outside of the vase, the mass coloring for the inner cup and the embossed logo on the lid.
The Re Place cosmetic packaging solution is part of Lumson’s refillable packaging range. Other options in the range include Re-Think, a packaging redesigned with an eco-design perspective. The Re-Gen is a refill glass jar, and the Re-Act helps brands and consumers in the process of reducing environmental impact.
Each refill purchased saves about 3.12 metric tons of multi-material packaging and 18 metric tons of glass, claims Lumson.
Refillable revolution
Global cosmetics packaging manufacturer Quadpack recently crafted packaging for Elate Beauty’s Prep Priming Serum and Refresh Foundation. Both items are refillable and recyclable while featuring caps and components made from responsibly sourced ash wood.
This month at Luxe Pack in Grimaldi Forum, Monaco, the House of Armani showcased its refillable perfume bottle with raised decoration to make the bottle look like jewelry developed with Bormioli Luigi.
