Dairy Crest have re-launched their flagship Clover brand in new packaging developed with Rexam designed to enhance the brand's taste credentials and on-shelf presence. Decoration quality has been boosted with the use of 8 colour Enhanced Dry Offset print on the tubs and high quality self adhesive labelled lids, and a new lighter yellow background colour gives a cleaner, more natural image. Rexam is the European leader in the manufacture of lids for spreads using it's unique Rotary Thermoforming (RTF) process linked to in-line label application. Commenting on the development a Rexam spokesman said: "We believe the labelled lid will be increasingly relevant to marketers offering opportunities for activities such as instant win and leaflet label promotions. The ability to deliver these benefits at a similar cost to conventional printing is of great interest to Brand owners throughout Europe. The RTF tubs with EDO print are also seen as a more cost effective, high quality technology than other less flexible alternatives." Simon Freedman, Clover Brand Manager, commented: "Clover has grown 28% in volume over the last three years and we're determined to invigorate the brand further. With the introduction of the "churned for taste" proposition on-pack, the new packaging clearly sets Clover apart from other spreads.
