Today over 50 Claranor sterilisation systems have been installed throughout the world, in industrial plants producing beverages and dairy products.
The cup application has been used since 2011 by Weissenhorner Molkerei, a German manufacturer of high quality organic dairy products. The company packages dairy products in 250g and 500g PP cups on a Waldner line which can produce up to 12000 cup/hour. The microbiological mould hazard issue that was facing the company, was already being treated with H2O2
treatment.
Weissenhorner decided to change the treatment solution for its cups to Claranor as it represented several benefits including costs savings, more compact equipment, compared to the use of chemicals.
Claranor’s solution was to install an optical cabinet, just above the conveyor, that would flash the cups up to three times for a log reduction above 4.2 on the reference germ, A. Niger.
Claranor also offers a cap sterilization solution for the beverage industry and its equipment is now sterilizing a wide range of product packages, from drinking yoghurt to flavoured water or sensitive fruit juices.
Information about Claranor can be found on the MKIS booth, its exclusive UK distributor, at the PPMA show in Birmingham, 25th to 27th September 2012.
