Novartis Consumer Health’s new Benefiber fiber supplement is taking the stigma out of daily fiber therapy, making it more convenient and “tasteful” for consumers, through a new fiber formula and vibrant packaging that exudes good health. The product is a dissolvable, non-thickening and tasteless powder that can be discreetly added to virtually any type of food or beverage. Packaging, which enhances the product’s modern, consumer-friendly aspect, includes 3.4- and 6-oz ergonomic, contoured bottles and a 14-packet SBS carton with bright, eye-catching graphics that illustrate the powder’s many uses. The white, high-density polyethylene containers, a traditional choice for fiber supplements, incorporate a less-than-traditional shape, with a nipped-in neck for easy grippability. Bottles are manufactured by Monarch Plastics and supplied by Lerman Container . The caps, also supplied by Lerman, are Flapper-style closures by Weatherchem. For the 3.4-oz bottle, a 63-mm dual-option, threaded polypropylene Flapper enables the user to either sprinkle or spoon the product. The 6-oz bottle uses a single-option 70-mm cap for pouring or spooning. It is the label though – a polyvinyl chloride, full-body shrink-sleeve label gravure-printed in six colors – that prevents the packaging from conveying a sterile, medicinal appearance. Label graphics, awash in green, yellow and white, incorporate an image of a spoon distributing a stream of yellow and white stars, mixed with a powdery-white cascade, over a healthful meal of cereal, fruit and coffee.
