Economic and better pouch filling
RA JONES has replaced its current model horizontal f/f/s machine with the Pouch King 2000 - a version which offers the latest design innovations but at lower cost. Designed by the US-based manufacturer for the requirements of the new millennium, the #streamlined# continuous motion machine combines open-wide full view guarding, ergonomic design, flexible speed/ feed, and a servo-drive system via SERCOS (Serial Real Time Control System) motion control.
Operating at linear web speeds of up to 63 metres/minute, the machine is the first Jones pouch machine to feature a low-pressure washdown facility. Its stop/start feature is claimed to be a breakthrough in vertical sealing performance. It avoids seal growth, unfillable pouch problems and product loss common with traditional methods. This is accomplished by rapidly cooling down from weld temperature (when the line is stopped for downstream packaging problems) but returning to operating temperature within five seconds of restart. Overall line productivity is therefore optimised. Features of the machine#s control system include an RS View colour monitor, #soft# PLC logic control, and an embedded laser receiver/transmitter circuit for accurate high-speed motion control, enhanced to chart the positions, velocity, or torque relative to a command signal on any axis.
