Langen Packaging Inc (Langen) will be showcasing the LRC-400i robotic cell at the PACex Canadian Packaging show. When the LRC-400i is combined with a Langen Tray Erector and Tri-Sealer it provides a sophisticated and flexible top load cartoning solution. The LRC-400i caused a sensation when it was unveiled recently at Pack Expo 2004 and has continued to generate interest in the packaging world. Speed, flexibility and reliability are the main advantages of the LRC-400i. Rather than using a pick-and-place robot to load individual products into the carton, the LRC-400i uses traditional techniques to collate the products and is equipped with a Fanuc robot that loads a complete collation into the carton in a single move. In addition to Langen’s 49 years of expertise in building reliable product handling solutions, the Fanuc robot itself boasts 65,000 hours meantime between failure. In addition to high packaging speeds and pay-loads, the LRC-400i helps preserve product integrity as multiple products are handled at once and the high level of productivity is matched with the flexibility to run a variety of products thanks to the quick belt changeover times and other simple adjustment features. Together, the cost-saving, simple features, reliability, flexibility and speed, result in a superior packaging system that is easy to set-up, operate and maintain while performing even complex pack patterns such as multi-count and variety pack patterns. Although ideally suited for highspeed wrapped product applications, the LRC-400i system can package a variety of products such as pouches, sachets, bags, etc into trays or cases.
