The GEA Niro POWDEREYE™ is a new in-line powder analysis system for spray dryers that allows producers to optimise powder sampling and analysis. The POWDEREYE™ system makes all the most frequently used tests required during the operation of a spray dryer, within a single unit. In-line analysis includes: Powder Moisture Content (by microwave technology), Powder Bulk Density, Powder Tapped Bulk Density, Powder Temperature and Scorched Particles (by digital image analysis). The data is displayed to the plant operators as trend curves and alarms in the plant HMI system.
The RAY™ 2 is a large laboratory-sized batch freeze dryer that can handle sample sizes of up to 25 kg. This allows for production in small volumes for product development and testing purposes. RAY™ 2 has been developed for products like vegetables, fruits, fish and meat, and - in a special execution - delicate products like probiotics, instant coffee, etc. It has the ability to operate at the low pressures needed for freeze drying probiotics and handle the high gas levels associated with freeze dried coffee manufacture.
- SPRAYEYE™ the monitoring system for spray dryers that improves safety by linking infra-red cameras to an early warning system that makes it possible to detect dangerously high temperature increases in the powder within the spray dryer before it would be visible to the naked eye using a normal camera.
- DRYNETICS™ that allows drying parameters to be established based on the study of one droplet of a given substance. The DRYNETICS™ analysis can be used to test the feasibility of spray drying for a new product at an early stage in the product development, and to provide better process simulations.
- The GEA Niro MOBILE MINOR™ laboratory spray dryer which is ideal for R&D work and for making representative powder samples.
