WITH SIX product launches since a management buy-out from parent company Stork Group last year, CSi, of the Netherlands, has now developed a new generation of high-speed palletisers. Boasting state-of-art mechatronic# design, the latest offering has been launched under the company#s theme CSi: Smart Moving Consumer Goodsto reflect its position as a leading supplier of materials handling and logistics systems. The main markets are the top 50 fmcg producers and their distribution network. Dubbed the 5000 series, the palletisers are available in both single infeed, C5000 Si, and twin infeed, C5000 Ti, versions - pitching them between the medium to high capacity range with speeds up to 110 packs/minute. Featuring a zero pressure row pattern forming conveyor, this allows many different pack sizes to be handled, from large cases up to 600 x 350mm, to small trays up to 150 x 100mm, and up to six PET bottles in shrinkwrap film without a tray. In operation, product enters the palletiser at high level towards the pattern forming conveyor where they are twin-laned on the C5000 Ti and turned through 90°, depending on the pallet configuration. When the row is formed it is gently driven sideways by a chain-driven pusher arm onto the frequency controlled stripper table to form a pallet layer. The 2-leaf stripper table - of narrow design to minimise drop distance - is then quickly opened from the centre by a crank-arm to deposit the layer onto an awaiting pallet situated beneath. The pallet incrementally lowers to the next product height as subsequent layers are loaded, finally being placed onto an outfeed conveyor when full. CSi#s UK office is in Camberley.
