Innocent Drinks, a UK based producer of smoothies and flavored spring water, said that Family (and friends), a British design agency based in London, developed a carafe design for its not-from-concentrate juices in PET containers.
The beverage company noted that it would bottle all its juices in PET containers before Christmas, and would not use aseptic cartons anymore. Innocent will continue packaging its smoothies in the aseptic carton.
The new packaging, which is said to comprise 25% recycled material, is scheduled for launch in February.
The new carafes for 900ml and 1.35l sizes of orange juice plus a new 900ml apple juice are said to have greater standout on shelf as well as be easier for consumers to reuse and recycle. The graphics on the package are designed by B&B Studio.
Innocent drinks head of creative team Dan Germain said given the limited amount of space, the company's juice front-of-pack design brief was a bit of a tough one to crack.
"The B&B team approached the challenge with passion and ample brainpower, and worked really closely with us to make sure it was spot on. And we got what we wanted - a lovely looking new carafe that looks great instore, and hopefully one that people will enjoy sharing around their breakfast tables," Germain said.
F&f creative partner Derek Johnson was quoted by the news agency as saying the design has been developed to maximise ease of pour, fitting snugly into the door of most family fridges and creating new news instore.
