27 April 2012 --- LPF Flexible Packaging has helped leading global confectionery manufacturer Perfetti Van Melle to boost the shelf presentation of its well-known liquorice brand Klene.
The two companies worked closely together during a successful restyling of the Klene ‘Geldlijn’, which underwent a metamorphosis from pillowbags to stand-up pouches.
Arjen van Keulen, Category Purchasing Manager Packaging, said that when Perfetti Van Melle wanted something new for its famous Klene product range, it turned straight to LPF Flexible Packaging.
He said: “LPF Flexible Packaging has been one of our key strategic suppliers for many years and it delivers whenever we ask them to think about a packaging innovation.
“Throughout the entire process of the restyling, the team at LPF Flexible has proven to be a reliable partner by consistently offering high levels of expertise, support on-site and suggestions on further improvements.”
The Klene (since 1876) ‘Geldlijn’ consists of seven varieties of traditional Dutch liquorice. Perfetti Van Melle has now reintroduced these products by presenting them in gravure printed pouches, produced entirely by LPF Flexible Packaging that truly stand out on the confectionery shelf.
Jan Koopmans, LPF’s customer service manager, said: “It was a great honour and pleasure to work with the Perfetti Van Melle team on this exciting project. When Perfetti Van Melle asked us to help them with this restyling, we knew we had to come up with a good solution and to provide the best possible service in order to make this project a success for both companies. I am very satisfied and proud of the result.”
