Lucy’s®, creator of delectable gluten-free and allergy friendly desserts, has announced the launch of a limited edition packaging created specifically for Breast Cancer Awareness Month this October. In support of the American Cancer Society, an organization dedicated to eliminating cancer, Lucy’s® will provide a charitable donation in 2014 as well as help to educate consumers about one of the most common cancers among women in the United States.
The special edition packaging, created for Lucy’s® best-selling 5.5 ounce Chocolate Chip cookie boxes, will flaunt a pink ribbon, the international symbol for Breast Cancer Awareness, in addition to embracing a feminine design for a yearly cause inspired by women. In collaboration with the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer, Lucy’s® will donate $50,000 to the nonprofit organization as well as share information on its website regarding the importance of prevention, early detection, treatment and support when it comes to breast cancer.
“Many of our consumers are women, specifically moms who are looking for a healthy snack their families can enjoy, and we want to make sure we are supporting the people who have helped to build our brand and are true believers in the company,” said Dr. Lucy Gibney, Founder and Chairman of Lucy’s®. “The American Cancer Society has been leading the way to transform cancer from deadly to preventable and we hope our fans will join us in the fight against breast cancer.”
Lucy’s® limited edition Breast Cancer Awareness packaging will be available in retailers across the United States starting in September for a suggested retail price of $4.99 to $5.49.
