Marchant Schmidt, a manufacturer of equipment for the food and dairy industries, has acquired the cheese cutting division of tna Australia.
This division of tna was based in Poole, Dorset (UK), and incorporated the former Arcal and Wright Pugson businesses, which have been producing cheese cutting and shredding equipment for more than 40 years.
The acquisition of tna’s cheese cutting division is a significant step in the expansion of Marchant Schmidt operations outside the US, which has also included the recent setting up of Marchant Schmidt Europe Limited.
This division is now manufacturing a wide range of equipment and providing sales, service and customer support from its new purpose-designed facility in Bromsgrove.
The acquisition includes all assets and technology relating to tna’s cheese converting operations, as well as the associated spare parts business.
Marchant Schmidt Europe is guaranteeing continuity of supply of equipment by manufacturing new machinery and stocking spares in the UK.
