Nailing unique designs: Baralan introduces stylish glass bottle shapes for nail polish
25 Mar 2021 --- Primary packaging for the cosmetics and beauty industries player Baralan is introducing two lines of glass bottles – branded Mirella and Alexia – developed primarily for use in the nail polish segment.
“The innovation of the Mirella and Alexia lines is found in the distinct style and unique shapes to stand out in the market,” Maurizio Ficcadenti, global R&D manager at Baralan, tells PackagingInsights.
In addition, both lines can be personalized with decorative techniques such as frosting or varnishing, offering brands a variety of customization options.
Mix and match
The Mirella and Alexia can be used with various formulas and combined with any accessory in the Baralan catalog.
“The Mirella bottle is designed with a cylindrical, flat shape, while the Alexia has a softer, more rounded form. Both lines, available in 5 ml, 12 ml and 15 ml capacities, are the result of the evolution and continuous improvement of the company’s processes,” says Ficcadenti.
The larger sizes are well-suited for professional beauty salons, while the smaller sizes are ideal for personal beauty routines.
“Baralan’s specialized teams are constantly studying packaging shapes and sizes aiming to develop aesthetically pleasing, impactful and timeless packaging options for our customers,” he adds.
Glass and gloss
Ficcadenti also explains that the Mirella and Alexia bottles are made of glass as this material has always been Baralan’s core business.
“It is universally considered to be an eco-friendly material as it can be easily recycled.”
Aligning with Baralan’s focus on environmentally-friendly packaging solutions, the bottles are made with a portion of post-industrial recycled (PIR) materials, a means of minimizing waste by keeping as many recycled components in the production stream as possible, he adds.
“Consumers are increasingly attracted to shapes that are appealing, unique, but, at the same time, functional. Baralan therefore brings to the cosmetic world the style of Italian design conceived as synonymous of beauty, always preserving the balance between creativity and functionality.”
A polished future
Ficcadenti says the company’s aim is to offer each customer the best solution for each cosmetic product, so Baralan constantly enriches its range with brand-new products and with the extension of existing lines.
“Baralan’s offer becomes increasingly broad and diversified, being able to provide a concrete answer to the needs of each market segment that is constantly evolving and searching for innovation.”
“Innovation will be the leitmotiv of 2021, a year that promises to be very dynamic for the Baralan with the aim of always embracing beauty through the launches of new and innovative packaging solutions, because details matter,” Ficcadenti concludes.
