Customers often look for celebratory products at Christmas, which provides retailers with the perfect opportunity to maximise sales. As the nation’s favourite cheese brand, Cathedral City offers a variety of Cheddar from Cathedral City Mild to Cathedral City Mature, Cathedral City Extra Mature, Cathedral City Mature Lighter and Cathedral City Vintage 20, catering for all tastes.
When the seasonal packs were introduced during the same festive period in 2010, Cathedral City saw a 28% uplift in average value sales for the brand, whilst total cheese sales only achieved a 1% increase.
The seasonal packs will be supplemented by TV advertising during the seasonal period from 21 November for four weeks. The adverts have a new festive theme with a revised seasonal script to promote the seasonal packs in the run up to Christmas.
Laura Downey, Dairy Crest Head of Marketing for Cheese, comments: “We are really excited about our seasonal packs this year as they will create fantastic stand out on-shelf through the festive period. We were the first to do seasonal packs last year and 2011 looks set to be even more successful.”
