New ice-cream packaging brings fresh ideas to the supermarket shelves

Under the guidance of the Czech Greiner Packaging location, the package has been developed for Poland and the Czech Republic. Kremsmünster, 21th May, 2004. – Due to the record summer of 2003, the ice-cream business increased its sales figures. Household package sizes, particularly 750-1000ml, are amongst the top articles in this segment. Schöller Eis opens the season with a refreshingly new 750ml package. Focussing competences Headed by the Czech location and in cooperation with Greiner Packaging Kremsmünster (A) and Greiner Packaging Switzerland (CH), the new product was created within a few weeks. Special machine technology was implemented in Switzerland. The new k3 ice-cream packaging is exactly adapted to the wishes and demands of the customers on the Czech and Polish markets. “Consumer tests acknowledge the new line,“ says Pavlik. The design The cup is square with its edges rounded off. This design harmonises perfectly with the branding of Schöller Eis,“ knows Pavlik. The not-round k3 solution allows placement on the shelves without taking up much space.” Special machine technology In Switzerland, special machine technology was created for the not-round k3 shape. The package consists of an injection-moulded plastic cup with a printed cardboard wrap. This new family ice-cream package is setting new standards, as it is closed with an injection-moulded lid and labelled with a high-gloss PP label of high quality. Schöller Eis In 2001, Nestlé took over Schöller Eis from the Südzucker AG. Since then, it has been expanding in the ice-cream business. The creamy ice is available on the Czech market in four flavours. On the Polish market, it is distributed under the “Nesquik” label.
