New Look For Champagne G.H. Mumm Portfolio
7 May 2013 --- A new look, designed to more clearly emphasise its excellent wine credentials and premium nature is announced for Champagne G.H. Mumm’s core portfolio of wines. Its non-vintage Cordon Rouge, Demi Sec and Rosé all now feature stylish new packaging from end of April, as the present design phases out.
All formats from half bottles through to the giant nine litre salmanazar and the House’s forthcoming 2006 vintage, will showcase the new design.
Key changes are new pearlised labels, colour matched to each style, in oyster, parchment and delicate pink. The labels also now see the initials of founder George Hermann Mumm bolder and thicker against the House’s emblematic red ribbon (a tribute to the Légion d’honneur, France’s highest decoration). A smaller red sash is picked out on the front of the neck foil. It sits just above an eagle crest collar which signifies the brand’s nobility and heritage dating back to 1827.
A new luxury gift box will be introduced a little later in the year and further reinforces the idea that G.H. Mumm is the Champagne of celebration (it is the F1 podium Champagne). The G.H. Mumm branding has moved up towards the top of the pack while its side panels, in eye-catching Mumm scarlet create high impact for optimum on-shelf visibility. Boxes for rosé & demi-sec are also coloured accordingly.
Finally, G.H. Mumm’s collectible metal cork caps, also colour coded per style, now show a tiny illustrated bottle of the Champagne. The marque’s Blanc de Blancs and special cuvée R. Lalou will remain in their current livery.
G.H. Mumm has also just updated its Champagne Protocols, a lighthearted iPhone app and Facebook guide to the etiquette of serving and drinking Champagne. It now has 100 essential, downloadable do’s and don’t’s. Its witty illustrations by Israeli designer and artist Noma Bar and its clever tips have won it a spot in the top 10 drinks category in the Sunday Times’ App List: ‘the top 500 in the world’.
