This month Diageo GB is launching a brand new limited edition bottle for Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge in time for Christmas gifting occasions. The new ‘red ribbon’ design 70cl bottle will be available in selected wholesalers and luxury retail outlets including Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols, from October until December 2011.
This exciting launch follows two previous successful limited edition designs, ‘Irresistible’ and ‘Ruby’, and comes as the total orange liqueur category is enjoying 13.9% growth, with Grand Marnier growing ahead of the category at 14.2%.
The launch of the chic and contemporary bottle design, which features a festive white lacquer background with a splash of red ‘ribbon’ running across the bottle, will be supported in store with branded POS and display units which will maximise visibility and encourage trial and growth of the brand.
In celebration of the new design Julian Lafond, brand ambassador for Grand Marnier UK, has created an exclusive cocktail recipe, Grand Colada, which emphasises the vast palette of flavours that this cognac and distilled essence of bitter orange liqueur offers.
Julien Lafond, Brand Ambassador for Grand Marnier, said: “Experience shows that limited edition bottles generate further sales in the run up to Christmas. With the new design we want to maximise the growing consumer appetite for orange liqueurs and encourage trial and purchase as gifts.
“This is the third limited edition bottle we’ve launched and with the support of the POS and display units available to retailers, we anticipate that this bottle will be equally, if not more, successful than its predecessors.”
