Alto, a division of VIP Packaging, has teamed up with Ski yoghurt to help them redevelop the packaging of their 1kg and 1.2kg yoghurt packs, resulting in the adoption of completely new packaging systems.
Ski yoghurt plastic packaging is now produced with the aid of Alto's state of the art production cells.
The new packaging systems use virgin plastic pellets, and they are automatically fed to high-speed injection moulding machines. The plastic labels are inserted into the plastic packaging during the moulding process.
The finished product must be perfect before being stacked into cartons. All products are visually inspected by the latest vision systems technology, and any products that do not meet the standard are discarded.
Once closely analysed, the parts are robotically stacked and packed into cartons. The finished cartons are then robotically palletised.
This packaging system is the most advanced of its type in the world. It ensures exceptional product quality as each product is carefully assessed prior to packaging. The system is also extremely efficient, as all machines are fully automated and do not require any human intervention.
