Parkside To Launch Cook Ready Range At Packaging Innovations 2016
Brands, retailers and manufacturers can see the latest developments in convenience foods packaging from speciality packaging manufacturer, Parkside, at this year’s Packaging Innovations 2016.
The Parkscribe Steam microwave pack, designed for convenience cooking of frozen vegetables, incorporates a clever new seal technology. A special food safe lacquer breaks down under heat and pressure to self-vent, allowing the contents to be cooked in a microwave without the consumer having to burst, cut or open the pack prior to cooking. The pack is available as a single or multi compartment format for the ultimate consumer convenience and to minimise food waste.
The Parkscribe Sandwich Wrap is a flexible pack that includes lasered incisions to create an easy open, no fuss, no mess solution to consuming food on the go. Consumers can simply tear away the packaging with ease, revealing the goods inside.
The Parkscribe Pour Pack is specifically designed to be a functional, easy to use product for chilled, ambient or frozen goods. It features a lasered cut to the side of the pack allowing consumers to simply peel away the packaging and pour out the contents. The product is also re-closable and cost effective as the technology can be used on existing packaging lines.
Paula Birch, head of sales at Parkside, said: “Parkside has invested heavily in developing new innovative products which respond to the changing needs of our customers. The Parkscribe cook ready range addresses the needs of brands, retailers and converters to meet the needs of time conscious consumers as well as delivering the supply chain efficiency and performance required from modern packaging designs.
“At Packaging Innovations 2016 we hope to demonstrate our capabilities to develop innovative packaging solutions for the 21st century customer.”
During the exhibition, Parkside managing director, Nick Smith, will also sit on a panel of printing and pre-press specialists to debate the current state of the flexographic print industry. Topics include the challenges faced in today’s market with demands for faster turnaround, increased print quality, less waste and colour management. The panel will also look at innovation and what the future holds for flexographic printing.
