Peace Cereal®, a leading premium cereal brand in the U.S., recently announced that Peace Cereal cartons featuring the Non-GMO Verified logo are now available in stores beginning in October. Peace Cereal received approval to use the logo on all 15 of its boxed cereal varieties once they were verified to be compliant with the Non-GMO Project’s Product Verification Program’s rigorous standards.
“We’re excited that our full line of Peace Cereal brand cereals with the Non-GMO Project’s Verified logo are on store shelves beginning with Non-GMO Month,” said Lonnie Alcock, Hearthside Food Solutions’ Division Sales Manager. “This is something our customers and retail partners have been waiting for and we couldn’t be happier to see it all come together this month. Consumers now have a clear choice in the cereal aisle.”
The Non-GMO Project is a non-profit collaboration of manufacturers, retailers, distributors, farmers, seed companies and consumers dedicated to the shared mission of ensuring the sustained availability of non-GMO food and beverage choices.
The Non-GMO Project offers North America’s only independent verification for products made according to rigorous best practices for GMO (genetically modified organisms) avoidance. Peace Cereal’s verified products are produced in compliance with the Non-GMO Project Standard—that means ongoing testing of all GMO risk ingredients, facility inspections and an annual audit to ensure that the highest possible standards for GMO avoidance are met.
